New Leaders Will Emerge This Time

It is clear that our government has become dysfunctional. It can no longer act in the best interest of the country. The self-interest groups, the lobbyists, the unions and the corporations have all bought their politicians with votes and cash and thus have them performing as puppets, presenting and defending their special interests no matter how selfish, one-sided and frequently, absurd. As a result, they have brought the government to its knees. The super committee was the most recent demonstration of this inability to govern. The special interests are controlling the politicians, preventing them from doing their job.

Leaders will emerge, new leaders and independent leaders, as the country is fed up with this performance and is angry enough to break down the exiting stranglehold the current leadership and two-party system has. This will soon change as an Independent will win for the first time.

Neil King, Jr. writes, “Ross Perot, who won nearly one in five votes in 1992 to become the most successful Independent candidate in modern presidential politics, ran at a moment when 39% of Americans said they were dissatisfied with how the nation was being governed. Today, Gallup reports, 81% say they are dissatisfied.”  (“Antsy Voters Look for a Third Way” Nov. 26, WSJ Election 2012)

It is going to happen this time. There is far too much greed. In fact, political Independents sensing the opportunity are preparing for this now, qualifying to be a determined candidate on an Internet national caucus to be held in June 2012 and on the 5o state ballots in time for the election. It may be Bloomberg, or Ron Paul, or an as yet unknown candidate who has yet to surface. But it will happen.

Change is in the air and not a moment too soon. We can change everything at the ballet box this time.
